DESCRIPTION BOOK : Solomon is known as the wisest man who ever lived. His writings in the Old Testament range from practical, pithy proverbs to beautiful romantic poetry—and all are filled with his knowledge and insights. Yet behind those writings stood a flawed man who was conflicted between deep wisdom and tragic folly.
Sadly, the king who warned against so many sins did not follow his own advice, and he wound up leading Israel into idolatry. Nevertheless, his life and writings provide valuable lessons for us today in the twenty-first century.
In this study, pastor John MacArthur will guide you through an in-depth look at the historical period beginning with Solomon's ascent to the throne and continuing through his tragic end. Studies include close-up examinations of the vital importance of wisdom—with portraits of the wise woman, the foolish sluggard, and others in the book of Proverbs—and careful considerations of doctrinal themes such as "True Wisdom from God" and "A Time for Everything."

Are you or someone you love struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, or other mental health concerns?
Tommy Tighe, a licensed marriage and family therapist, wants to help you take steps toward reaching and maintaining mental and emotional well-being, not only through self-care, healthy coping mechanisms, and professional intervention but also through prayer, scripture, and developing a relationship with the saints. St. Dymphna’s Playbook combines a therapeutic approach with the deep wells of Catholic faith and spiritual practice, exploring paths toward hope, healing, and wellness.
Born out of Tighe’s podcast of the same name, St. Dymphna’s Playbook provides a practical, ready-made game plan for moving toward wellness. It offers concrete explanations of a wide scope of mental health concerns and symptoms related to depression, anxiety, trauma, relationships, and grief, as well as the common emotions and situations that allow them to grow—including fear, social anxiety, isolation, loss, and unhealthy relationships. Tighe shares best practices for understanding and beginning to address each concern and offers a uniquely Catholic understanding, diving into relevant scriptures and introducing us to a Catholic saint or holy person who lived with the same issue—including St. Dymphna, patron of those with mental disorders.
Whatever your concern or struggle, you are not alone. The witness of scripture and the saints reminds us of the community we already have as we begin working toward mental well-being. Read more

DESCRIPTION BOOK : —“Yves Chiron’s incredible work reads like a novel and is one of the best introductions to the detailed history of the reform of the Latin rite.†—FR. MATTHEW S. C. OLVER, Nashotah House Theological Seminary
—“Chiron’s study is invaluable for anyone interested in the aftermath of the Second Vatican Council and the history of the liturgical reform.†—THOMAS CATTOI, Graduate Theological Union, Berkeley
In this book, French historian Yves Chiron turns his attention to one of the most influential figures of 20th-century Catholicism: Annibale Bugnini, guiding spirit of liturgical reform in the period surrounding the Second Vatican Council. Highly controversial in his day, and down to the present, Bugnini has attracted high praise from his disciples and vilification from his detractors—but all agree that without his energetic organizational skills and access to the levers of power, the most extensive overhaul of the Roman Catholic liturgy in the history of the Church would not have taken place as it did.
Yet who was Bugnini, really? What were his formative experiences, personal ideals, intellectual assumptions, practical aims? How did he accomplish so much in so short a time? Why, after such a singular collaboration with Pope Paul VI, did he suddenly fall from grace and suffer exile? Should he be remembered as liturgiae amator et cultor , lover and servant of the liturgy (his epitaph), or as the éminence grise of an unscrupulous reinvention of Catholic worship? Can we cut through the legendary, the polemical, and the partisan, to arrive at a clear portrait of the man and his work? Until now, there has been no biography that makes extensive use of all available documentary sources, including Bugnini’s own memoirs, Vatican publications, private correspondence, interviews, articles, and lectures. The present book has filled this lacuna with the scholarly care and dispassionate analysis for which the author’s books are praised at all points on the ecclesiastical spectrum.

DESCRIPTION BOOK : Catholic Writers Guild 2019 Seal of Approval
Catholic Press Awards 2019 Honorable Mention
Dear Parents,
We’ve written this book for two reasons: to help you introduce your children to some of the great saints of our faith, and to help you and your children grow in the peace beyond all understanding that comes from being loved by a Father who takes care of us. Mindfulness may seem like a new concept, but as it is presented in this Catholic context, it is something that has been practiced since Jesus commanded us to “not be anxious†about our lives. These exercises are an effective way of teaching our children, through the bodies God gave us, how to accept our feelings without criticizing ourselves for having them, and at the same time how to control our expression of them. In our own family we’ve experienced that often when we devote time and energy to helping our kids, we end up helping ourselves as well. We can’t give them what we don’t have, so learning how to trust God and let go of our fears, worries, and frustrations is the best way to model that peace for our children. We pray that in teaching your children about God and the saints who have loved him in the past, you will also experience a bit of that peace.
In Christ,
Greg and Barbra
